I have come to realize that my life is a Practice.
I have spent every part of my life wanting to know more.
And, as I was making a list of things I want to do each day I received another epiphany:
first, I’m going to need to manage my time m u c h better
but mainly that the list I made was a “practice” list.
Not only are the activities (such as ballet, Nia and the Feldenkrais Method) on my list, but added on will be
following up practice
returning phone calls/texts promptly practice
social interaction practice
and even stuff I’m good at already!
My drawing and writing practices will be only part of my practice of creativity.
In order to soften the obstacles that are real or imagined and shift my perspective, perhaps a practice that combines creativity and resourcefulness… just brainstorming here.
Nothing will ever be finished. Not really.
Even projects and events, when realized, are only part of the next project and next event.
Life as a Practice.
I don’t think I’d want to live any other way.
I think of it all as a practice as well. And yes – I do believe we get better from our practices, but that’s not the point really…we practice to be better.
I often think of it as practicing so that I can practice.
